Wigglesworth Community Centre

As well as being the location for many village events, our community centre is available for private hire and makes a great local venue for special birthday parties, social events and meetings.

The main hall can accommodate between 50-70 people depending on the kind of event planned, with the option to open up the adjacent old school rooms to accommodate larger events. [Click here to see photos.]

The old school rooms themselves can be used as one large room, accommodating around 50, or partitioned to create two smaller spaces for around 20 people each. The old school rooms and main hall together make the centre a flexible option for larger events, providing (for example) break-out rooms for different activities, separate seating areas for a dinner or dance, or changing and storage areas for plays and concerts.

Comfortable seating and a range of tables are available for the use of hirers.  Chairs can be used individually or in connected rows for theatre-style seating.

The hall is served by a small but well equipped commercial quality kitchen, with a fridge, freezer, gas hob & oven, water heater (for tea & coffee), dishwasher & microwave.  A good range of kitchen utensils, cookware, crockery, cutlery and glassware are provided.

The centre has separate male and female toilets. The main hall has an accessible toilet with wide door access, grab rails and alarm. The Centre is single storey and the whole building is accessible without the use of steps or stairs.  Entry doors can be opened electronically through a push-button system.

The community centre has a car park with fourteen spaces, including two for the use of visitors with disabilities.  Cars are parked at owners risk.

Outside, a small outdoor paved seating area is available with access to a secure woodland play area.  Children must be supervised and are the responsibility of their parent or guardian when using this area.

The Community Centre is not licensed for alcohol sales, however a temporary event license can be arranged in advance for a specific event if this is a requirement.

We have made the centre as environmentally Friendly as we can!  We harvest rainwater which is used to flush all toilets in the centre (with a back up system from the mains if needed). We have our own waste treatment system and low energy light bulbs have been used throughout the building.
