On Sunday 23 July, Wigglesworth will be holding it's first Open Gardens Event, combined with the Wiggy Worm Festival.
Did you know that Wigglesworth was home to millions of worms?
Every year or so, some of the rarest and most colourful species of worms can be seen in the village but only for a short time. Luckily, 2017 is a worm fest year - so on Sunday 23rd July almost every garden in the village will be populated by one or more of these amazing wiggly worms.
Most can be seen from the road side but to add to the spectacle, some green fingered villagers have kindly agreed to open up their beautiful gardens to visitors too!
So first of all come along to the Community Centre where the guides, tea, coffee, cakes, plants and activities for children will be available all afternoon from 12-5.00pm. Guides cost £2 per adult with accompanied children free.
Do come along and join in the Wiggy Worm Fest. You can help to judge the Best Garden and best Wiggy Worm exhibit, just note down the number (for garden) or letter (for worm) of which ones you find most attractive or funny and make sure you enter them onto the sheet back at the Community Centre before you leave for the day.
SAFETY: Please take care on the road, there are no pavements so walk in single file facing oncoming traffic. Take care in gardens there may be obstacles and narrow paths to negotiate.
